André Forcier- Writer - DirectorAndré Forcier’s directorial debuts are the short film, Chroniques labradoriennes, and the feature Le retour de l’Immaculée Conception (1966). In these early days, Forcier does whatever it takes to raise money for bits of celluloid. With talent and perseverance his unique vision is augured as the future of Quebecois cinema. In 1974, after the success of Bar Salon, Forcier is awarded the Silver Siren from the hands of Vittorio De Sica. Since then, he has made many poignant, humorous films in his eccentric and lyrical style (L’eau chaude l’eau frette, Au clair de la lune, Kalamazoo, Une histoire inventée, Le vent du Wyoming), which have been highly praised and honoured with innumerable awards. At 60 Forcier is as passionate as ever about his profession, and remains indisputably the enfant terrible of Quebec’s cinema. In winter of 2007-2008 Forcier will shoot his eleventh feature Némésis. |
