Montreal — Tuesday September 11th, 2007: Montreal filmmaker André-Line Beauparlant’s third documentary, Antlers, will be screening in Maniwaki at the Maison de la Culture de la Vallée-de-la-Gatineau on Saturday September 15, at 9pm. Antlers is a documentary about a rare and shy species: the big game hunters of the forests of Northern Quebec. Alternating between interviews and savage hunting sequences, the film overflows with humour, tenderness, and heart-stopping authenticity as it touches subjects such as love, death, and religion. After successfully closing the 25th Rendez-Vous du Cinéma Québécois, the film screened to appreciative audiences in theaters across Quebec, as well as at several international documentary film festivals.
