Friday, July 13, 2007 — Atopia is pleased to announce the Canadian premiere of François Miron’s The 4th Life at the 10^th edition of the 2007 FanTasia Film Festival taking place in Montreal July 5^th - 23^rd, 2007. Following successful presentations at Ravenna Nightmare Film Festival (2006), Cinénygma Luxembourg International Film Festival (2006) and Boston Underground Film Festival (2007), the Montreal screening will be held this coming Thursday, at 7 pm in J.A. De Seve Theater. François Miron is expected to attend.

The 4th Life is the highly anticipated feature debut from this celebrated multiple-award winning experimental filmmaker, who has been creating extraordinary and unclassifiable shorts for over 20 years. The film stars Janet Lane (Lucky Number Sleven) and features music by Electric Wizard and David Kristian (La Belle Bête). In this stylistic thriller, a woman runs away from a nightmarish life and a nightmarish past, until the “truth” catches up to her in the form of a former female lover, a lover on a mission to defend betrayal and all those who have been hurt by “love.” Set against a backdrop of fading dreams, broken aspirations, and the crumbling ruins of a decaying town their separate paths come together with explosive results.
